I realise why it is always said that it is extremely important to preserve that part of you that nobody can touch, that small bit of you that is above all and is yours. It is what that essential, what-at-the-very-base-at-the-core constitutes you with all it’s good, bad and ugly bits. Have a good heart? Have terrible insecurities and fears? Jealous? Melancholy? Cheery? Deadened? It is of utmost importance to preserve it and to pry it away from eyes, seeing and unseeing because when the curtains fall, all one will possess is that untouched bit of you that will stand by you, in sickness or in health, in success or failure, in courage or fear, for the bad or for the good or for the worse. Till death do you apart.
